With City not in action this weekend due to the international break, we are once again encouraging Grecians to check out one of their local non-league clubs in the south-west and chuck a few quid in their coffers.
Devon Day - Torquay United v Hampton & Richmond
Everyone at the club has been saddened by the plight of our neighbours Torquay United, who have entered administration due to financial difficulties. Supporters of City, and our rivals Plymouth Argyle, have been quick to rally behind the Gulls, and we are encouraging supporters to attend Plainmoor on Saturday, 23 March for their match against Hampton & Richmond.
Dubbed as 'Devon Day,' City and Argyle fans are encouraged to don their own club's colours and fill the terraces at Plainmoor as all three sets of supporters join together in unison one common cause.
As a club who have been through our own difficulties back in the early 2000s, we understand the uncertainty that supporters, staff and players of Torquay United will be feeling. Indeed, Torquay United were quick to leap to City's aid during our darkest hours, as their supporters hosted bucket collection and they donated gate receipts to the Grecians as we fought for our existence. It is only right that we lend our support to ensure that the rivalry continues for many years.
Tickets
Tickets for this fixture can be purchased now. Tickets can be bought online now HERE, in person at the Torquay Club Shop on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10am-2pm, or over the phone on 01803 328666 (Monday to Friday 10am-2pm).
Supporters are encouraged to book in advance of all matchdays to save £2 per ticket, but Matchday Ticket Office will be open from midday on Saturday 23rd for any queries or matchday ticket sales.
